Inclusion 2024
Campion School - Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Lead Inclusion School
To further ensure that competitions within the School Games are as inclusive as possible, a bespoke project (called Inclusion 2024) is in place to help drive and increase opportunities for people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
Through a range of interventions and activities, Inclusion 2024 supports schools to improve and extend their provision for all young people to take part in competitive sport and includes the following:
The role of Lead Inclusion (Inclusion 2024) - Campion School
Sixty schools have been selected to lead the delivery of elements of Inclusion 2024 and will help to drive the aims of the School Games by:
- Delivering bespoke training, advice and guidance to SGOs, Schools and LOC.
- Working with others to support and provide inclusive competition; strengthening entry and exit pathways to School Games
- Sustaining young people’s participation beyond their involvement in competition through the development of school club activities.
Inclusion 2024 will encourage schools to develop meaningful high profile sport competitions for young people with SEND.
