Vision
A small number of pupils have more serious problems with their sight.
We have experience of working with pupils with limited vision.
Once a pupil is identified as having a significant vision impairment, Warwickshire’s Vision Support assign a Vision Support Specialist Teacher who will visit school periodically to carry out further tests and provide advice for staff and teachers.
These are steps we may be able to take to help a child with reduced vision access the curriculum:
- Enlarge worksheets and textbooks to a size that has been agreed with our Vision Support specialist teacher.
- Following assessment, provide Access Arrangements for tests and examinations.
- This will likely be 25% extra time. Assessment is carried out by the SENCo and our Specialist teacher and follows Exam Board regulations.
