Hearing
The school has experience of working with pupils with hearing loss.
In most cases children are able to take full part in school life without many adjustments.
These are the steps that we may be able to take to support a child with hearing loss:
- Several staff have attended the Warwickshire Hearing Support service training courses.
- We also have the support of a Hearing support Specialist Teacher who visits school periodically to carry out tests on identified pupils and provide advice for staff and teachers.
- Many of our staff have experience of working with pupils with reduced hearing and where new staff are assigned to teach pupils with hearing problems our Access staff will provide advice about how best to support learning.
- Staff are used to wearing a microphone for individual pupils who have a radio aid.
