The school has experience of working with pupils with speech and communication issues.

We have teaching assistants who have worked with children who are elective non-speakers and children who have difficulties with speech and we may be able to place one of these teaching assistant in some lessons to help with any adjustments that may be necessary.

We work closely with the Speech and Language team at the Local Authority and can try to arrange speech therapy sessions.

In general, children with speech and communication issues do not need many adjustments and function well in school.

We have provided assistive technology to help elective non-speakers to respond in class.
