Personal, Social, and Emotional (PSE) Education

In the PSE Department, we strive to raise achievement standards while maintaining high-quality practices. We encourage all students to appreciate the value of the PSE curriculum, which is designed to address individual learners' needs, concerns, and aspirations.

During Key Stage 3, students explore essential topics that promote their personal development. In Year 7, they engage in subjects such as "Starting a New Secondary School," "Puberty," and "Personal Hygiene." In Year 8, the curriculum expands to cover important themes such as "Friendship," "Sex Education," and "Drugs and Alcohol Education." This comprehensive approach ensures that students are well-equipped to navigate their social, emotional, and personal lives.

In the PSE Department, our goal is to elevate achievement standards and uphold best practices in education. We encourage all students to appreciate the importance of the PSE curriculum, which is tailored to meet the diverse needs, concerns, and aspirations of each learner.

At Key Stage 4, students engage with a range of crucial topics, including “Sex and Relationships,” “Citizenship,” which explores the dynamics of modern Britain, and “Health and Wellbeing,” with a focus on mental health. Additionally, they learn about "Living in the Wider World," which includes essential financial knowledge. Our PSE curriculum is thoughtfully aligned with the Relationships, Sexuality, and Health Education (RSHE) Policy to provide a comprehensive and cohesive educational experience.
