GCSE Business
Subject Leader: Ms Emily Strutt
Exam Board: OCR
Business Studies GCSE
Throughout the course you will investigate risk, creativity, innovation and enterprise – all very important things when thinking about setting up your own business. There are also investigations into finance, marketing, production, staff recruitment, training and motivation. It will leave you with a ‘business brain’ rather than just lots of facts about business.
This is a great course for people who like practical work, who consistently work hard, who like being assessed in different ways and who like to work as a group but also have the ability to complete coursework on their own.
The key word is ‘understanding.’ You will be expected to use the knowledge you gain to think and analyse.
You will also have the opportunity to go on a number of educational visits in order to help with your understanding of key topics. Previous years have visited Cadbury’s World, Alton Towers and Tywcross Zoo
How will I learn?
The business studies department works exceptionally hard to appeal to all learning styles. Lessons will include group work, role plays, discussion, sound, video and most important of all, the chance to be creative at every possible opportunity.
