At the library, we aim to make literacy engaging, creative and enjoyable, inspiring students to develop a lifelong love of reading, words and learning. Throughout the year, we run a wide range of activities, events and competitions designed to encourage reading for pleasure and celebrate books in all their forms.

Some of the activities and events we have hosted include:

    • World Book Day celebrations and themed activities
    • Creative writing clubs and competitions
    • Young Writers competitions
    • Author visits and events, including Benjamin Dean
    • Student voting on future library themes, displays and book topics
    • “What Are Staff Currently Reading?” displays and recommendations
    • Student-written book reviews and recommendation boards
    • Reading House competitions and reading challenges
    • Seasonal and cultural book displays, including Diwali, Halloween, Christmas, Black History Month and more
    • Library quizzes, scavenger hunts and reading activities

We are always looking for new ways to involve students in shaping the library and celebrating reading across the school community.
