Students will explore the developmental journey from birth to old age, examining the diverse factors that influence individual growth and change. This includes understanding the impact of lifestyle choices, the role of social media, and the influence of relationships and family dynamics. Additionally, we will investigate how life events—both predictable and unpredictable—can shape our experiences and the decisions we make.
The curriculum will address the importance of accessing support during various life stages, highlighting how such resources can aid individuals in coping with the changes they encounter throughout their lives. We will also emphasise the significance of health and social care services, exploring how these services provide assistance for various illnesses and diseases, and how professionals within these settings can facilitate support.
Furthermore, students will recognise the challenges that individuals may face when attempting to access these services, including potential barriers and obstacles that might hinder their ability to seek support, receive treatment, or implement lifestyle changes.
Throughout this course, students will develop essential analytical skills, enabling them to assess and justify their decision-making processes. These skills will be transferable to the assessments they will undertake, fostering a comprehensive understanding of personal development within the context of health and social care.
