Geography KS3

At our school, we strive to equip every pupil with a deep understanding of their place in the world. This journey begins in Year 7 with our dynamic Introduction to Geography unit, where students embark on their exploration of locational knowledge. From this strong foundation, we expand their learning by examining the natural processes that shape our planet through captivating topics such as coasts, rivers, and tectonics.

We also encourage students to critically engage with the ways in which human activity has transformed our world. Through discussions on economics, climate change, and development, we challenge them to think about their role in shaping a sustainable future.

In Years 7 and 8, students are invited to apply their knowledge to specific locational studies of diverse regions, including Africa, Asia, and Europe. This hands-on approach helps them connect classroom learning to real-world contexts, enhancing their geographical literacy.

By the end of Key Stage 3, we expect every pupil to possess a solid foundational knowledge of both physical and human geography. This robust understanding will not only prepare them for the challenges of GCSE Geography but also inspire a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.
