Corona Virus Parent Letter 01/02/2022
For the attention of Parents, Carers, Staff and Governors
Dear Parents and Carers
Coronavirus Update
I am really pleased with the positive start that pupils have made to the Spring term. They have returned from their Christmas break enthusiastic and ready to learn.
The recent online Parents Evenings have gone well and it has been wonderful to share the pupils’ progress and achievements with many of you. Staff and pupils are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting term with the school production and rehearsals are in full swing. It has been a delight to see the pupils’ excitement and enthusiasm at the return of such events after, what seems like, a long period of time.
As you will be aware, England has returned to Plan A with respect to the Coronavirus restrictions. This includes the removal of the requirement to wear face masks. However, case numbers remain high, particularly in the region and therefore to ensure that pupils can continue to receive the highest level of education and to minimise the need for students to be taught by cover teachers, the school will continue to encourage the following measures:
Pupils and staff to continue to wear face masks in communal areas. We ask that where possible, pupils provide their own face masks, however, we will also provide face masks when requested;
Encouraging regular hand hygiene, including the provision of hand sanitiser in all classrooms, offices and communal rooms;
When possible, pupils to have the use of the field at lunchtime to support social distancing.
I would also like to take this opportunity to update you on the school expansion project which will further enhance pupils’ educational provision. The new Sixth Form block and the new Sports Hall are progressing very well and currently on schedule; pupils now have access to a brand new Drama Studio and will shortly have access to a newly refurbished English department.
Thank you for your patience with all the disruption caused during the expansion project but I hope that you will agree that it is an exciting time to be at Campion School and it is hoped that we will be able to hold open evenings in the near future for new and existing parents to showcase the changes.
Finally, I am really pleased that all of our Year 10 and 12 students will have the opportunity to take part in work experience in March. If you would like any support with finding placements etc, please contact Mr Mike Wilson, Careers Advisor (MichaelW4@campion.warwickshire.sch.uk). Once again, I thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards JASSA PANESAR Headteacher
