Campion School recently hosted the first Amnesty Warwickshire's Youth Network meeting. Year 9 students from Campion School organised the event and were joined by students from Kineton High School and The Kingsley School all wanting to work together to support human rights. The students were also joined by members of the Mid-Warwickshire Amnesty International Group.
The aim of the network is to provide a supportive platform that will enable teachers and students to share ideas for implementing human rights education within the education sector, promoting the awareness of human rights issues and to establish a network for communication between schools involved with Amnesty International in the Warwickshire area.
The group shared ideas to develop greater awareness of human rights issues within their schools and discussed activities that would encourage more active participation from the youth. They also planned future campaigns and looked at various human rights resources that could be used within their schools.
