Welcome to Campion Careers. We aim to provide careers, skills and training advice and guidance for all our students in year 7- 13. All students have access to impartial information, advice and guidance delivered through the Campion School Careers Adviser, Michael Wilson. Mr Wilson is an experienced Careers Adviser who has been based at Campion School for seven years and is in attendance 3 days per week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in partnership with CSWP, the Careers Guidance Company.
At Campion School a young person’s career is defined by the progress they make in learning and in work. All of our students will benefit from a planned programme of activities that will help them to choose the career pathway that is right for them. Campion school is committed to providing a planned programme of impartial career education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for all students in years 7-13.
All students from year 8 follow a careers education program which aims to raise aspirations and provide students with a better understanding of the pathways needed to be taken in order for them to achieve their goals. Campion School has recently taken part in a national pilot scheme involving the National Grid, bringing working professionals into the classroom. The pilot pioneered by National Grid has been developed in conjunction with several schools including Campion school. The aim of the pilot is to bring experience, skills and knowledge of working environments into the classroom, providing students with local and national labour market information, enabling students to identify a variety of key skills needed or attributed to various occupational areas.
Throughout the year speakers from different organisations come in to provide the students with inspiration and advice. We regularly receive ambassadors from the University of Warwick who help to support and guide prospective students about student life at Warwick University.
At key milestones throughout the student’s education Mr Wilson will provide support, advice and guidance to ensure realistic and informed decisions are made. We will cover everything from GCSE options to work experience, post 16 options and university choices. We encourage our students to manage their own career choices and aspire to a lifelong career, wellbeing and happiness - Aspire Engage Achieve.
If you have any questions or feel you could contribute in any way please do not hesitate to get in touch.
MR M Wilson
