The school has experience of working with pupils with hearing loss.
In most cases children are able to take full part in school life without many adjustments.
These are the steps that we may be able to take to support a child with hearing loss:
- We have a teaching assistant that has specialised in working with children with reduced hearing, taking them from year 7 all the way through to GCSE exams.
- Many of our staff have experience of working with pupils with reduced hearing and where new staff are assigned to teach pupils with hearing problems our SEN staff will give them advice about how best to support learning.
- Staff are used to wearing a microphone that feed back to individual pupils when talking to groups.
